Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin injured his right hand after hitting a member of the team’s equipment staff during an argument, multiple sources told ESPN’s Michael Eaves.

According to the sources, Griffin and the equipment staffer got into an argument in a restaurant during the team’s trip to Toronto. Griffin hit the man, who then left the restaurant and went outside. Griffin followed him outside and hit him again.

Griffin suffered a suspected fracture in his hand in the incident, sources told ESPN’s Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne early Tuesday morning.

Well well well. The NBA is on full throttle now, and we’re still 2 weeks away from the All Star Break. Blake Griffin is breaking his hand punching the equipment staff…not sure what to think here…mostly because I cannot imagine what the altercation was about. Like, you’re Blake Griffin, the most universally loved Kia Spokesman of all time. You’ve put grown men on so many posters. Timofey Mozgov has had a successful run as the Cavs big man and people still know him as this dude.

What on earth could it have been about? I can’t think of a single thing anyone could say or do to Blake Griffin to get him upset enough to punch him, but then he followed the dude after he already got mollywhopped just to hit him again? Did he say Nissan’s were better and Kia’s were for bitches? Did he say Deandre dunked better? I guess if I had alcohol in me and someone called me Chris Paul’s bitch I’d be mad too, but if I was a self made millionaire that turned the entire Clippers franchise around, I’m paying someone else to hit the ball boys.

PS. At least it wasn’t a fire extinguisher. People don’t forget.
